Way to busy!

:
I have been waiting for an iPad Monopoly app for months. This one has some promise but it is way to busy to enjoy playing. All of the graphics going on make it almost impossible to see what is happening in the game. Every time you roll the dice you get a graphic telling you to roll the dice and this is very annoying, I know to roll the dice, it would be nice to be able to turn this off. After you roll the dice you get about 3 lines of info scrolling across the screen that makes it impossible to see where your token has been moved to. I turned the animation off and this didn't help at all. The developers really need to tone this app down. It is just not enjoyable in its present form.

Annoying and disappointing

:
Since Monopoly classic for the iPhone has become my most played app ever, I have been waiting in anticipation for a full-screen, full resolution version for the iPad, which has quickly become my preferred device of choice to play games on. Unfortunately, this version is disappointing mostly due to all the 'fluff' they added which detracts from the classic Monopoly experience.

Admittedly, there are a few welcome improvements made over the iPhone version, such as being able to select your own color and whether the opponents are human or AI, table top mode, the ability to play your own music and set up playlists in-game, and much easier control to manage properties. But those additions are offset by some undesirable special effects changes that make this version so unbearable to play that I'm back to playing iPhone Monopoly at 2x resolution on my iPad again..

Gone is the ability to roll the dice with a simple press of the "roll dice" button. Now you are FORCED TO use gestures to touch, hold, then flick the dice each time. Changed is the currency symbol from ($) to the "M" with lines through it. And the most irritating of all, believe it or not, is the sound the dice make(!) It is so unrealistic and raucous that it demands your attention and soon grates on the nerves, and you hear the dice rolling A LOT in this game. Please EA, please, if there is just one thing you change, please bring back the much more subtle and softer dice sound from iPhone Monopoly. I have to play iPad Monopoly with the sound completely off to be playable and that's not something I'm willing to do. And no, I don't want to turn off animations in the options because I do like to watch the tokens march around the board. With animations off everything happens so quickly that it takes much of the fun out of the classic board game experience.

So, after waiting all these months for an iPad version of the fantastic Monopoly for iPhone app, I'm left feeling disappointed that I can't enjoy it and annoyed at spending $10 for it.

Grating

:
If you always felt like Monopoly would be better if dice rolls took forever so that the "camera" could track with them, to the exclusion of your being able to see the board; if you ever wished that rolling dice were more difficult; if you ever wished that important parts of the board were obscured by irritating animation and messages (including how to roll the dice, for chrissakes); if you ever said "Dang, what Monopoly needs is a tacky glitter effect every time someone pays me $2!" then this is the game for you. And you can turn off one type of animation, not all.

Note to the designers: it's a board game. It's not Madden. You should be embarrassed by the tacky effects that result in shoddy gameplay and greater power consumption.
